The Arizona Sub Region is having player tryouts for the Women's National Tournament (WNT) to represent Team Arizona! 

With nearly 70 teams from across the country competing annually, the National Tournament has been become one of the nation's marquee college recruiting events.

All interested participants must register through the US Lacrosse link no later than:
April 1st, 2017
. There will be no onsite registration. Tryouts are closed to the public.

PLAYERS are reminded to wear black shorts and a plain white T-shirt that can be written on.

Each player will be assigned a number for their shirt and this number is to identify you to the selectors.

NO LOGOS or HIGH SCHOOL CLUB TEAM NAMES can be on anything that you wear.

Dear Lacrosse Coach,
I hope this letter finds you as you are starting your lacrosse season. On behalf of GameBreaker Lacrosse Camps, I would like to invite the players from your program to attend our girls lacrosse camp at Northern Arizona University this summer. Campers will learn individual stick skills, team concepts and positional play. This promises to be a great week of lax and new friends! 
My staff will include college coaches, high school coaches and NCAA players. These coaches are dedicated to the individual development of each camper and serve as great role models. We are a teaching camp that also provides competitive scrimmaging opportunities- all in a fun and positive atmosphere.

What is the Women’s National Tournament?

This storied and historic tournament features regional high school girl’s lacrosse games and US National Team competition. This event attracts over 1,500 of the best competitors nationwide from every realm of women’s lacrosse as well as over 2,500 spectators. This is also a great opportunity for high school girls to be seen by College coaches!

When and where is the tryout for the WNT?

The tryouts for WNT to represent Team Arizona will be Sunday April, 2 at Gilbert High School. Arrive at by 10:00 AM-10:30 AM to check in and pay the tryout fee. There will be only one tryout. Tryouts begin at 11:00 AM


Who is eligible to try out for WNT Team Arizona?

Any High School player in grades 9-11 affiliated with the AGLA girls high school league and playing in the AGLA high school spring season can tryout. You must have a US Lacrosse membership that is current through May 2017.


Do I need to register for WNT Tryouts?

Yes, you will need to register with US lacrosse link by April 1st - there will not be onsite registration. Rosters are due to USL by May 1, 2017.


How much does the tryout cost and how do I pay?

$60.00 payable on site before the tryout. Cash or checks made out to AGLA. You must pay before you can tryout.


What is the tryout like?

The tryout is broken into two sessions. The first session is from 11:00 am -11:30am and will focus on stick work, timed conditioning drills, agility drills, and basic lacrosse skills. The second session is from 12 pm-1:00 pm scrimmage (This schedule are subject to adjustments).


What skills are the Selectors looking for in a potential TEAM ARIZONA player?

  • Excellent stick work and advanced skills (left/right handed)
  • Defensive and Offensive Abilities
  • Positive Attitude and Teamwork
  • The ability to think well in all playing situations
  • The ability to take constructive criticism
  • The ability to play different positions
  • Natural athletic ability - particularly speed, endurance and quickness
  • Game sense/lacrosse IQ and communication

What do I need to bring to the tryout?

  • Two yellow or orange balls
  • mouth guard
  • stick
  • Goggles
  • Water

What should I wear to the tryout?

  • You will be given a number for your shirt, this is the number that will be used to identify you by the selectors.
  • NO LOGOS OR HIGH SCHOOL OR CLUB TEAM NAMES can be on anything that you wear.
  • Also, no bandanas, scrunchies, bows or any other distinguishing clothing or accessories that would make them stand out as a player.


How many players make the roster?

20 players will make the team, with 2 alternates selected in the event that a roster player is unable to make the tournament.


How much of the tryout MUST I attend?

You must participate in 100% of the tryout in order to be considered for Team Arizona.


When is the roster posted?

The roster will be posted within 48 hours.


If I make the team, how much does it cost?

Estimated cost in between $900.00-1100.00, but could change based upon transportation costs and sponsorship. Fundraising will be made available. A down payment of $300 will be needed to be made one week after the roster announcement.

Tournament Team Registration Fee: $1,350.00

An online team registration/payment form will be circulated. Payment can be made online via the form OR

you can print the form and mail it in with a check. CHECKS ARE TO BE MADE PAYABLE TO US LACROSSE AND

MAILED TO: US Lacrosse, Attn: Shannon Minter/NT Schoolgirls Division, 2 Loveton Circle, Sparks, MD 21152,

by May 1, 2017.

Tournament Team Fees:

Additional team expenses (after any excess tryout fees are used) are determined and divided among the players to offset the cost of the tournament registration fee, uniforms, tournament coaches’ travel and lodging expenses. The Chair will collect and manage this process.

Remaining funds left at the end of the tournament should be kept in the account for the following year’s tournament. In sub-regions that consist of more than one chapter, any leftover funds must remain in the sub-regional account or distributed evenly between chapters.




Parents must register players no later than April 1. 10, 2017. There will be no onsite registration.

 Distribute the tryout link to individual players and/or high school coaches within your sub-region to distribute to their players



 Distribute the selector link to any one you would like to recruit to be a selector for your tryouts. Selector qualifications do apply and can be found in the Sub-Regional Chair Handbook.



Distribute the coach link to anyone you would like to coach your sub-region’s team. Only (2) coaches are allowed per team.
